    * A performance sedan with a heritage taken from the racetrack, the 2014 SS is the latest offering from Chevy that is bound to leave more than a few onlookers with their mouths hanging open. Set low to the ground with large fenders that give it a wide stance, this beast is bound to intimidate even the toughest challenger. Its lines flow from front at the headlights all the way back to give it a gorgeous streamlined look. Doubt this newcomer's acceleration off the line and you'll be making a major mistake, as it has the same pairing of small block V8 and rear-wheel-drive as it's counterpart in NASCAR. It is a rear-wheel-drive sedan born from racing with a generous appointment of luxurious features thrown into the mix. The SS packs a serious punch with an incredible 6.2-Liter 415-Horsepower V8 under the hood. It is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission controlled by TAPshift, which lets you move up and down through the gears with Paddle Shifters for more precise driving. Plus, it is equipped with StabiliTrack to help you grip the road, along with seriously tough Brembo brakes with 14-inch rotors for fast stops. It has a MacPherson front strut based system and multi-link independent suspension in the back. All that combined, and you have a car will throw you back in your seat smiling as it does to 0-60 MPH in just five seconds. Despite its muscle and grit, the SS is all luxury once you get inside. You won't want to get out after sitting in the soft, heated and ventilated Leather Seats, and your rear passengers will enjoy the generous legroom. It features an 8-inch touchscreen with MyLink, and a navigation system that is GPS-based. Plus, a great sports car needs a great stereo to go with it, and Chevy has delivered with a premium Bose 9-speaker sound system. Tech enthusiasts will like that the SS includes a rear-view camera, park-assist, and a heads up display that projects information like your speed on the windshield. • A steal, if you could find one,

I had a G8 prior, and was side swiped by a drunk driver. The G8 drove like a rear wheel sedan from a dream, so I wanted another. I got an SS (next gen G8) and even though it was a lot more $$, I regret nothing. I love everything about this car. A sleeper? Yep. People still asking what it is? Yep. The car telling you when there is something in your blind spot, or about to hit you, or if there are speed cameras around, or if it might be icy, or asking if you want to park itself for you (nah) (parallel or backing in) , or begging you for some rear drive V8 throttle... This thing looks like a rental for half a second but for the next 59.5 seconds, baffles everyone. I'm lucky to have one.

Love this car. Great performance. Beautiful inside and out. It's a four door hot rod.
    • Two hour milk runs are common in the SS.

Sleeper car is only an understatement when the car is off. Anyone within earshot of one of these cars when the accelerator is firmly depressed knows instantly that there is something very different about that sedan that; at first glance could’ve been a Chevy Malibu with nice wheels. The SS is loaded with creature comforts like heated and cooled seats, suede accents, power everything and a heads up display (with a G-meter and shift light), and built in 4-G LTE. The performance you can wring out of this almost 4000lb. sedan is remarkable. 12.7sec. quarter mile and 0-60 in less than 5 sec. This thing will get you the side eye from the wife while the kids in the back are encouraging more engine sounds. The Chevrolet SS is the modern day equivalent of the 1970 454 SS Chevelle. Aside from a few recalls (nothing actually failed or broken), I’ve never had any problems with the car. I’m on my second set of tires on the 6yr old car and besides oil changes, it may be time to replace the original battery. The SS has been a very reliable and well built car.
